Dr. Sadia Chaudhury
Dr. Sadia R. Chaudhury is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders across the lifespan. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Arise Wellness Psychology, a group private practice providing comprehensive psychological services to children, adults, couples and families in New York City and Long Island. Arise Wellness Psychology is committed to providing culturally-sensitive psychotherapeutic services to its clientele and its clinicians provide therapy in English, Bengali, Urdu, Farsi and Creole.
Dr. Chaudhury graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. She then completed a postgraduate fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychology at New York Presbyterian. Dr. Chaudhury worked as a Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Medical Center for several years, where she researched clinical correlates of suicidal behavior and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles. From there, she began to focus her time exclusively on her private practice, placing a specific emphasis in providing therapeutic services to the Muslim and South Asian communities that she is part of.
Dr. Chaudhury is also a founding Organizer for Muslims for Progress, an advocacy group committed to highlighting the needs of the Muslim community and encouraging civic engagement within the Muslim community. She is also a member of the Nassau County Asian American Advisory Board. She recently served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Long Island Muslim Society, and also volunteers her time at other local mosques in the area.
