Dr. Ahmad is a New York-based cardiologist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He currently serves as the Medical Director of NYU Langone Brooklyn Cardiology Associates - Park Slope, while simultaneously running multiple medical clinics throughout New York City. With diligence and dedication, he graduated from Pakistan's Allama Iqbal Medical College and completed his residency and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases in New York. Today, Dr. Ahmad is a Board-certified cardiologist and has been named one of "New York's Top Doctors."
Dr. Ahmad's passion for community service is evident through the charitable foundations he has established and his political involvement. In response to the divisive rhetoric throughout America, he founded APPAC, the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee- an umbrella organization that seeks to unite and empower the Pakistani American community through increased civic engagement. Additionally, he served as a president of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America NY (APPNA) for the calendar year of 2021. Dr. Ahmad’s current projects include building a hospital, medical school, and 250-bed medical facility, which plan to provide cardiac and cancer-related services to patients in Gujranwala City, Pakistan — an area where more than half the population lacks access to health care, education, and clean drinking water. With the contributions and support of Dr. Ahmad, hundreds of physicians will be able to provide medical care to the underprivileged.
In addition to carrying out medical, civic, and charitable activities, Dr. Ijaz Ahmad is also a husband, proud father of three children, and noted vocalist. His musical style fuses Western singing traditions with classical and modern Pakistani styles.
