Asian American Institute for Research and Engagement

AAIRE is a nonprofit on Long Island dedicated to addressing the needs of the pan-Asian American, Middle Eastern, and immigrant communities, focusing on the underrepresentation and lack of awareness of Asian American issues. Through research, data collection, and outreach, we uplift and unite the community.

With a database of over 25,000 Asian Americans on Long Island, we engage in regular communication to understand their needs and advocate for solutions. We connect these populations to government and nonprofit funding and resources, promoting a sense of solidarity and resilience that drives lasting change.

AAIRE educates elected officials, school administrators, and community members about the importance of AAPI history being integrated in our K-12 grade curriculum, specifically focusing on the pan-Asian community as a diverse group of ethnicities and cultures that come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We have created factsheets for use in classrooms, legislative hearings, and media coverage on topics such as physical health, mental health, housing quality, and senior issues to provide valuable context and insight into our communities.

AAIRE has formed impressive coalitions and partnerships with over 100 Asian and non-Asian community and business organizations across Long Island, including Good Neighbors Initiative, Equity Budget Coalition and Steering Committee, REACH-AAPLI Curriculum, LIPA Advisory Committee, Hofstra University, and JP Morgan Chase and Co.
