Farrah Mozawalla
Farrah Mozawalla has been an advocate for the Asian American community for over 20 years. She is well versed in Asian foreign affairs and understands the cultural nuances within each of the various Asian communities. Farrah unified the different Asian communities and lobbied for the creation of the Nassau County Office of Asian American Affairs. Under Nassau County Executive Curran’s administration, Farrah was the first Executive Director for the Asian Affairs Office.
In this role, Farrah served as a powerful advocate for the county’s Asian Americans and worked to make sure they could access resources and relief during the pandemic. Additionally, she encouraged the county to contract with businesses owned by Asian Americans. Under her leadership, the office tracked and analyzed emerging trends of the Asian cohort, in order to ensure government policies consider Asian needs and their perspective. Farrah led Nassau County’s response to a rise in anti-Asian hate. She fielded reports of bias incidents from the community and supported Asian American residents. Farrah graduated Summa Cum Laude from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Education.
